The Company

Digital Dispatch Systems Inc. is the largest of the four businesses of DDS Wireless International Inc., a world leader in providing wireless fleet management solutions to multiple markets and previously known as Digital Dispatch Systems Inc. The taxi business retained the name Digital Dispatch when the Company changed its name in early 2008 and restructured its operations into four market-focused businesses to facilitate diversification and growth.

History

Digital Dispatch's history began in 1978 when a group of its present employees invented one of North America's first taxi dispatch systems. The Company was incorporated in 1987 and later leveraged its application software expertise in the taxi market to enter into transit, courier, limousine, roadside assistance, emergency service, airport shuttle, and vehicle location and tracking markets.

The acquisition of Glenayre's mobile data division in 1992 transformed Digital Dispatch into an integrated wireless communication company, providing turnkey systems including, application software, MDTs, RF infrastructure products, project management and customer support services. With the acquisition of Mobile Data Solution Inc.’s (MDSI) transportation business in 1999, Digital Dispatch set out on a geographic expansion path that continues to be a part of its strategic plan. The recent merger of Finland-based Mobisoft OY with Digital Dispatch reinforced its product and market diversification plan by enabling it to address the needs of the small taxi companies with a managed dispatch service.

Today, Digital Dispatch boasts 60% of the world market share in large taxi fleets with over 75,000 mobile data terminals and 200 mobile data systems installed in taxi fleets four continents.

Digital Dispatch's success is attributable to consistently being the first to introduce new technology like dispatch software, DSP high-speed modems, multi-site, multi-host and multi-channel network gateways, low cost surface mount PCBs and in-vehicle mapping technology.
