Database Developer
Richmond, BC, CA

Job description:

We currently have an opening for an experienced database developer who also has a good background in database administration to take the lead on sizeable projects. As a key member of the Software Development team, you will develop, enhance and support database components of our products. The ideal candidate will have a solid experience in the area of real-time operational systems and be able to multitask and work well under pressure.

Responsibilities:

• Design, document, and test database components of software products.
  
• Design and carry out database performance analysis and make tuning and maintenance recommendations accordingly.
  
• Design, document and test strategies to provide high system availability (data replication, primary / standby set ups, clustering, etc.)
  
• Provide technical support on database components
  
• Perform development tasks on other areas of the systems as necessary.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related discipline
• 3 to 5 years of relevant software development experience on Windows and Oracle platforms
• Strong knowledge and experience with SQL / PL/SQL
• Experience deploying, supporting and troubleshooting OLTP systems
• Strong object-oriented development skills
• Programming experience in either C++ or Java
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  
• Oracle DBA certification would be an asset
