Interview with a System Manager Training Participant

Digital Dispatch will be regularly running System Manager training at our head office in Vancouver, BC. The session will focus on being able to configure and run systems properly, and learn the full extent of the system.

At the end of last month, Digital Dispatch conducted a training session for Dispatch Managers operating on TaxiTrack. Zone Broadcast was able to ask Pam McFall of Yellow Cab Company in Louisville, Kentucky a few questions about her experience at the training.

Zone Broadcast: How would you rate the trainers?

Pam: I would give the trainers an excellent rating.  Both were very knowledgeable of the Taxi Track program and explained things in a way that even a non IT person like me could understand.  At first going into the training I was worried because I was under the impression that the people attending were mostly IT people, but I was quickly relieved when I was able to catch on so quickly. They ensured that each person understood what was being taught and did not rush us.  They allowed plenty of time for questions.

ZB:  How would you rate the facilities?

Pam: I did not have any issues with the facilities; I think the set up was great.  I honestly did not expect to get as much hands on training as we did so it was excellent!

ZB: Are there any improvements or other things you would like to see in the program?

Pam: Not really.

ZB: Was the length of training too long, too short, or just right?

Pam: I think that it was just right, especially in my case because of how far I had to travel for the training.

ZB: Do you think you and your company got good value for money?

Pam: Definitely, to be perfectly honest with you the amount of information covered in the training exceeded my expectations!

ZB: What were the best parts of the training for you?

Pam: To me it was learning how to build custom reports.  This has been one of my desires for quite some time now and I think that it will help me greatly with our company specific reports that need to be prepared!

I am also extremely pleased about all of the materials that were provided along with the training, it enabled me to not have to be so focused on just taking notes to make sure I didn’t miss anything and allowed me to focus better on the actual training itself!

ZB: What would you say to others considering doing this training, and would you recommend it?

Pam: You bet I would recommend it!   I think anyone who is considering this class should definitely attend this training.

ZB: Is there any other training you would like to see DDS offer?

Pam: Yes, I think there needs to be a class for radio shop personnel in how to troubleshoot, tune and install MDTs.

The training runs over three days, and is presented by a series of specialists from Digital Dispatch, each focusing on their area of expertise.

Upcoming training dates are:

October 27 - 29, 2008
December 1 - 3, 2008
March 16 - 18, 2009
